Nissan Silvia Spec R
Discussion
Hello everyone!
Been a lurker for a while (years being totally honest) but never joined, until now!
Chopped in my EP3 Type R and picked this S15 up 2 months ago from Torque GT in Devon. It's been absolutely fantastic so far.
It was a grade 4 in auction and is pretty spotless. You should see the underneath!
This was on the way home, had a fuse issue which meant I lost all lights (front and rear) just as it was going dark on the M4.
Not a huge issue but I didn't have/couldn't find a spare and with everything being in Japanese I played pot luck with switching a fuse over and managed to get home after 6 hours each way in the rain. Worked out it was the new fog switch that blew them all...

The car is totally standard except for the forged Prodrive wheels and CD player. The wheels are worth quite a bit apparently!
Over the next few weeks I was just getting used to my first RWD and turbo car.
I then started to collect parts:

Useful instructions...ha!
Ended up buying LOTS of oil and replaced whatever was in the engine, gearbox and diff.
Also bought an Apexi Power intake, Hardrace gearbox mount and a BARGAIN of a strut brace.
Got a few other bits too, a new gearknob to replace the tatty old one and some new dash bulbs to replace a blown one.
This is how it's sitting now...

Totally fallen in love with the thing and can't stop staring at the lines. It's beautiful!
Plans over the next month or so include HSD coilovers, rear arms (camber and toe to begin with) and an exhaust of some sort.
Aiming for Stage 1 initially then we'll see what's what. Thanks for reading!

Really big fan of these cars, tuneable engines too. The wheels are worth a fortune, seem to remember a long time ago someone on Scoobynet bought a set for their Impreza STi and it was well into 4 figures.
Cheers,
Grant
I read somewhere that Subaru sell them for about £500 each...EACH!!!!Cheers,
Grant
Mine are staggered 17's, front two are 7.5j and the rears are 8.5j

It's very nice to drive!
The ball bearing turbo is very addictive and is very smooth. It's 250bhp as standard so nippy.
One thing I don't like compared to the EP3 is the gearbox. It's not as tight but the uprated gearbox mount has improved it massively.
The steering feel is good, turns in very well.
It does get a bit sketchy in the wet if you're going for it, but the diff keeps everything in line most of the time.
Being my first RWD and turbo car it has been a good laugh so far. Thoroughly enjoying it.
And yes, I do have a bit of 'choo choo' from the apexi

I also traded in a EP3 for a S15 and don't regret it at all. Mine's still standard barring Nismo clear repeaters and a new headunit but I love it. Yours looks a really clean one, Torque GT have an amazing reputation.
Enjoy it, they're great cars.
Seems like a common upgrade Enjoy it, they're great cars.

Any plans for it?
Still can't stop gawping at the thing. It looks awesome when hit by sunlight.

Nothing major as I don't want to ruin it. Exhaust change at some point and some different alloys once I have the money (still on the standard 16s!). I'd love to finish the Aero kit but the price is scary

And yeah, I still look back at mine after I park, still think it looks more modern than it is.
