Hi guys,

After having bought myself a couple of Rolex watches in recent years, I think it's time to get one for my girlfriend as a nice Xmas present. If we still lived in London I'd know exactly where to head to have a look, but now we have moved to down around Southampton area I don't know where to begin.

I don't particularly want to buy new as the budget is restricted to a few K and I doubt I'll get much new, so I need to know if anyone can advise any decent dealers around Southampton / Poole / etc who have a decent selection of quality used Rolexes?

Thanks for any advice.

ParkHouse on above bar usually have a couple.
Jeremy France and Marsh Clocks in Winchestre normally have some, so does the Jewlers at the top of the high street but I can't remember the name...
Watches of distinction in Lymington have a good selection

Jeremy France in Winchester have ramped up their used watch section since moving to their new store, but I think Marsh clocks have stopped selling them. Not seen any in the window for a while.

Watches of Distinction in Lymington have a very decent selection.

What model are you after? I can have a look at what is available to trade customers.

Hi, currently I'm thinking a mid-size yacht-master might be nice... ref: 168622

Thanks

Honestly, why restrict yourself to what is in stock locally?

Watchfinder (on here) in City of London have a good online presence, as does Chrono24, where there are literally thousands for sale.

They do post things.

Because I need to see the watch in person to be sure it's the right model for her. Its very hard to decide if a watch will suit someone without them trying it on. Even harder without at least seeing it lol.

Watches of Distinction in Lymington.

Can recommend from personal experience but they also have a very good reputation if you search on the net.

Thanks guys, I went to watches of distinction and then headed to the main dealer in Southampton to check further models.

Just doing a quick bit of work then heading to bournemouth main dealer to check one last model.

Pretty sure after looking at the various options it's going to be a Ladies Datejust Mid Size on an oyster bracelet. My girlfriend's wrist is very small, 5.5", so that seems about the right balance. Now just to decide if the plain or fluted bezel... oh and what colour dial to get!

Done just this recently, although new from an AD, and she chose fluted and white; looks lovely! Good luck!

Nice choice, did she choose that herself or did you choose it for her? My girlfriend is 35 so I think the fluted adds a bit of glamour which she'd appreciate vs the plain bezel.

I am also looking at new from an AD now since I would prefer the latest model with updated bracelet. Did you get much of a deal? If you wouldn't mind PMing me it might help negotiations to see what discount I should be asking for!
