Hi all,
I've got the usual crank pulley wobble on my ls3.
After looking at the different forums in Oz, the consensus is to upgrade rather than replace the pulley.
I was just wondering if anyone has done this yet and if so, which pulley they used.
Not sure yet, if the Fish uses OEM pulleys as a direct replacement. I'll call tomorrow.
Any thoughts or ideas?

Can I ask how long you've had it fitted and has it cured any wobble mate.

Doesn't seem common over here, but the ATI seems like the one to have.

The bottom pulleys all seem to be bad. banghead I was worried that ours was falling off but was told "They all do that sir" and not to worry as it wasn't going anywhere.

Those ATI pulleys look the business but I can't find anything to say whether or not they are underdriven. From what I've gleaned so far, underdriven, free's up some of the parasitic loss but can cause havoc elsewhere with cooling or electrical issues, as neither the water pump or alternator can spin fast enough at idle.
Not sure how true or accurate this is. My brain hurts!!

If it does, you could always overdrive the accessories that you think will need it, to compensate - such as the water pump and alternator. The power steering could do with being underdriven IMHO.

That's definately not the impression I get from either Australian or US owners.
Opinions vary on damage that can occur from this. Mine at idle is about a 3 or 4 out of 10 but I know that at higher rpm it's gonna have "a whole lot of shakin' goin' on".

Totally agree but where do I start? I'm not savvy or smart enough to work this out on my own.

I'm not sure whether it's the pulley of the crank end out of square on ours.

It has to be the pulley I think. Too many with this issue for it to be at the crank.

Unless there's a machining problem. The tolerances on these engines aren't great, and that end of the crank is not very critical.

Now that's food for thought eh? But wouldn't they wobble from the factory if that's the case?

If it's relevant I have an ATi pulley fitted to my LS1. Not had any problems with it in the couple of years it's been fitted and it was 2nd hand when I bought it.

I think it's 15% underdrive but my idle is at least 20% faster so I've not noticed any cooling or charging degradation.

Didn't replace it for wobble as mine was fine, just built a belt and braces forged engine wink
