LSA supercharger arrives
Discussion
Well, impulse purchase 2014-23a has finally landed. All in cost was just under £2400, which is more than I hoped. Postage was a killer, as it weighs a ton (well 65lbs according to the box). Packaging left something to be desired, as the expanding foam bags split in transit and I've ended up with chunks of foam inside the blower. Saturday's chores now include hoovering the charger.
I'll post some pictures when it's clean. It's a lovely piece of kit, so I can't wait to sort out an engine to put it on. Pricing up what's needed to run 700hp+, makes me realise it'll cost around the same as a crate LSA motor. Not as bad as it sounds, as it'll be built the way I want it and will run a proper crank.
All I need after that is a car to put it in

That's the whole unit with the ZL1 style charge-cooler, not just the blower. Not bad when you consider the TVS1900 kit (with inferior valley style charge-cooler is around £6K. These units are good for over 700hp too. I could have paid a lot less for a warranty return (there's a lot of them without lids for around $500). I can't see the remaining bits costing £3600 and, as I said, this unit is far superior.

I've seen people asking about adaptors for LSA to LS1 ports on Tech, not sure if someone makes such a thing though
I looked hard and couldn't find them.I also looked at the LS1/LS3 style heads, as G suggested. They are quite expensive. Almost as cheap just to sell the LS1 and buy a crate LS3.
When I get the knackered LS1 back from Monkfish, I'll sit the LS3 on it to see how far out a custom adapter plate would need to go.

I could probably make you a casting if you wanted something light and strong. :-) Why don't you use LSA heads? They're pretty tasty.I also looked at the LS1/LS3 style heads, as G suggested. They are quite expensive. Almost as cheap just to sell the LS1 and buy a crate LS3.

Sort of a work in progress...or maybe notI also looked at the LS1/LS3 style heads, as G suggested. They are quite expensive. Almost as cheap just to sell the LS1 and buy a crate LS3.

or as Mike says, just bang on a pair of square port heads ? Bore size permitting
So you are going to fit an LS9 blower to an LS1? Sounds hard and expensive. If it's going into a Monaro I'm not sure it will ever fit, you may be better off going with the tried and tested LS2 and TVS2300 combo? I have an LSA in mine but with a TVS2300. Stock LSA is too tall. I also think the pulley alignment won't work on your LS1.
