Very cool but was kind of hoping this would be a modified Veyron.

Has any super-rich enthusiast tuned Veyron yet? Surely, if you sacrifice OEM reliability a bit, they could make a lot more power!

I think the author of the article needs to stay off sugar and caffeine.

But you can't see it until the car rockets past you.
Pulls up next to you at the lights - you won't spot the chute, shirley?

I think the point is the words sleeper and parachute in relation to cars don't often appear in the same breath.

sleeper 101 - make something with 'NO' immediate visible clues as to its performance

i think they failed. smile

Great car though smile

and did you hear it on the road???
and would you not notice that the driver was in a cage?
or the drag radials on the back

Total non story, probably not competitive in it's class due to loads of unnecessary weight for the road (interior, lights etc) yet not even a little bit stealth

Redvictor once upgraded will have a Steve Morris billet intake manifold on it.

As far as street 'legal' cars in the states are concerned 4000 hp cars is actually where it's at.

I'd love to see this Mustang up against a Veyron in a standing 1/4 mile, with no pre-launch burnouts.

Masses of horsepower means little if the car is unable to convert it into forward motion. The way the video cut away just as the car lost traction on a straight road while moving is ample confirmation.

This car is a stheap.

I think that's a bit unfair. It's just not much of a sleeper.

Yeah, Veyron is very quick at 10.1 Seconds, this will be what, in the sixes, even without a burnout the Veyron will lose.

Could be in the 6's depending on how the boost is delivered and if the chassis can take it.

Conjecture is nothing compared to reality.
Remember Vector boasted the WX3 could do 250mph in 1993. That never happened either.

seriously chap there are diesel pick-up trucks in the US which would beat a Veyron down the 1/4 mile so I'd have no doubt at all that the Mustang (providing it was piloted properly) would waz all over the VW

The Vector was a near mythical supercar prototype in the eighties, they did make some based on that in the 90s that did getting on for 250 mph.

So, separate and distinct from the fairly numerous, high power, road legal drag cars in the states which are designed to go very quickly in a straight line, honed, year in year out against a backdrop of decades of quarter mile racing, huge slicks, specialised transmissions, superchargers, nitrous, massive power, but it is not designed for sustained high speed running, wont be happy in traffic and wont be quiet and comfortable, wont go round corners, all of which a Veyron will.
