997.1 Axle Tramp Advice
Discussion
Pressing on off the lights recently I experienced pretty violent axle tramp/wheel hop. It went on a bit and I feathered the throttle to manage it. I've experienced axle tramp a few times in the past (a while ago) but only on full bore starts (which this wasn't) and even then only two or three hops before it grips more evenly and it's time to snatch 2nd...
Does anyone have any advice? Also which areas should I investigate first?
Bushings
Shocks
Mounts - engine/gearbox
LSD
...
I'd be pleased with any indication on prioritisation and extension of this list - or other reasons etc.
Specs:
997.1 at 80+k, -20mm springs with LSD, PCCB, X51
The front (not rear) suspension is basically entirely new after a series of problems with a steering rack... now solved.
Thanks all.

Thanks drmark, I'll hoist the car and see if it's functioning as an open or ls diff.

Motorsport plates soon fixed that.
Would you care to share the particular plates you used in your replacement? I read a lot of good things about places you can send the diff to be refurbed with different plates - or entire inners.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
