Blew their engine up on the M42 southbound this morning? (Black 996 C4S 02 plate)
I was following in my daily and heard it let go, poor chap.

Moved mine on last week. Engine always felt tight but every time you hear a strange noise (and there's always a few on a 12 year old car) it's the first thing you think of. Week before I sold it was driving along and dash light up red and told abs failed, immediate panic and thinking it must be engine when alarm sounded. Was only an error code in end!

actually i may have to revise my view - from what you've said a 996 sounds quite an exciting ownership proposition

Yes it was checked and cleared at dealers.

I'm told the ABS Failure Warning light on a 996 is often due to a battery problem...I hope so as I've recently been getting this warning on start up.
