Just wondering what peoples thoughts are about this company, as I'm considering them for future services as they are quite close to me?

Would you consider them a main dealer service or a specialist? If specialist, would a service from them devalue a car that has a full dealer history?

I would recommend them. They are a bit cheaper than Stratstone, who are just up the road. Friendly people (not 'sit down for tea' friendly, but for example they've kept my car for weeks when I've been unable to collect it, despite their having no space), frank about what does/does not need doing. On a minor note, the after-service clean is also very good - I'd take my car there just to get it cleaned.

They are one of the few non-Stratstone places that can stamp the Aston Martin wings on the service book, so I don't think taking the car there will devalue it. And they clearly have the experience - last time I went, they had everything from cheapo V8Vs (me) to three DB4-6s.

As per the above, would heartily recommend NM&Co.

Have bought two cars from there and have frequently used them for servicing and maintenance.

They are not an official / franchised new car dealer, but as they are a Heritage Dealer, as mentioned, you do get the AM logo on your service book stamp.

I px/d my first car Nick Mee car (which was serviced by them) with a main dealer (Grange) and they didn't raise the "specialist" stamp as an issue, and dealers will usually use any way to de-value your p/x wink

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys, looks like I've found myself a local service center. I always prefer using specialists for some reason. The only advantage of using a dealer when I had my Porsche, was they would send me and the Mrs to a spa for the day, whilst it was being done.... Brownie points indeed!!..., but no wonder they charged £650 for an oil change then!

I have to say I personally 100% wouldn't recommend Nicholas Mee. Think I've already posted in various threads elsewhere what an absolute disaster they made of my classic aston - they had it on and off for 6 months without being able to fix some issues with the engine.

I then took it to Aston Services London (who I'm guessing must also be close to you if Nicholas Mee is) who within 10 minutes said "oh you've got a dangerous brake master cylinder" you shouldn't drive it. I did drive it - but over to Chiltern Aston - who without being told about the brake master cylinder came to same conclusion (also in about 10 minutes). Oh, and they also fixed the engine problem within a matter of days. (I would have happily used Aston Services London as well, but they were just about to move premises so couldn't deal with the issue quickly)

Maybe I was just unlucky? Who knows. But I can't see how an Aston Martin "heritage" specialist could miss something that was so dangerous. I think that combined with my conversations with others in the classic car industry (and not I hasten to add competitors of NM, so people with nothing to gain by talking them down), lead me to conclude that they aren't what they once were. Maybe for Gaydon cars they're fine. Who knows.

And what really annoys me is the comment given to me by them "oh of course we can charge a premium labour rate because we're Nicholas Mee". By all means try to charge £100-£110 an hour for labour - but for that rate I expect you to know what you're doing. Not the "oh we'll try changing this part, and then maybe that part, and hope that fixes things".

I have only used them once, but found them very helpful and professional. Great selection of cars there being serviced too, so a good chance to see some rare machines!

Extremely unprofessional and complete liars who went quiet and decided to ignore me when I had caught them out with proof.

Would never let them anywhere near my car or go anywhere near that business.

I am a great fan of Aston Service (now Des Smail's operation in London following the buy-out of Ian Mason some years ago) They have worked on my cars from my Db4 GT to my Vanquish S and I have always been very impressed.

I had a bad experience with them as well so personally would stay well clear.
