Christmas holidays are over
Cold (can’t even have the car roof down)
Ages until my next holiday
Dark and dingy

Does January have any redeeming features?

We can look forward to the summer and start seeing the evenings become brighter - noticed a few extra minutes of light already

You can also take comfort that xmas is ages away

it's not that cold, it's the rain that stops my roof coming down

Yes, the surf is absolutely firing.

But, I have snapped both of my boards.

Actually, on my Griff above 20 MPH you can have the roof down as the rain blows over the top. Also, the heater on the Griff gets very warm! As such, I take back the 'roof down' comment, but I still hate January!

1) Time to plan / book holidays
2) Cobblers. Came in to work this morning with the roof off and the heater on. Easily 6oC at 06:30 this morning.
3) See 1. I'm planning a break in mid-Feb.
4) .. Yes, but it's getting lighter...

that's a bit of a bugger, used to love this time of year in Cornwall, lots of bizarre south coast spots would work and there is always the chance of epic Levy

Also its snowing in the Alps

At least you don't have to work outside in the rain.

Always snows in January in York. City centre looks gorgeous at night in the snow, especially without the Christmas tat.

Yeh, it's my birthday on Sunday!

but... I've got exams for the next two weeks so that means no redeeming features!

New Years Day, I went for a walk on a UK beach with a few friends.

It was fan-tastic. I'd forgotten how lovely the seaside in England could be, regardless of the time of year.

Yesterday I went to Beverley, a minster town up in Humberside. Loads of lovely buildings, no 70s grot, great company, loads of walking and a 13th century Minster smack in the middle of it.

England.

There is nothing quite like it.
