Monitor recommendations please - for Mac and PS4/Xbox

I'd like a computer monitor for my study (maybe 24" or a bit bigger), to plug my macbook pro into (with the thunderbolt connection).

I would also like this monitor to double as a PS4/Xbox monitor, which use HDMI. I have a spare AV amp, so this can handle the sound so the monitor will just be a pure monitor.

Is there anything I need to look for especially? Refresh rates or whatever are a bit lost on me?

Any recommendations?
