This is not an attempt at the most boring thread title in the Lounge, i promise. It is a genuine request.

I am fed up of these types of mug leaking, iv never had one where the lid seals correctly. So, before i throw money on another one, can anyone recommend a mug that doesn't leak when tilted or accidentally knocked over. Id like to be able to throw the empty mug in my work bag and not worry about the remains of my morning brew dribbling out.

Yep, I agree with that... Piping hot many hours after filling.
Got mine from Go Outdoors.

All RAF recruits are told to purchase these during training. So you could say they're proven on the battlefield. Top bit of kit for having a warm drink. Mine served me well at -26 in Norway.

I use this one..

I've had this full upside done in a laptop full of hot cofee and even with me moving around a lot it didn't leak once.

The only con about this mug is getting the right temperature to make it drinkable...even hot water that's been standing in the kettle for 10 mins and then drinking out of the mug after 30 mins is too hot. This is the first thermal mug I have had so not sure if it just this mug or all thermal mugs get too to drink initially.

I'd just like one that doesn't make the tea or coffee taste of plastic!

I'm RAF as well.

You can get a st version from stores, but the Life Venture ones are a 100 times better.

I been through a fair few, keep forgetting about them having coffee in them, then opening them after a few weeks and they're full of mould.

I use a Primus Commuter mug, had it for a few years and it's always been great. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Primus-thermal-travel-400m... (the first few pics on there make it look a bit of a funny shape, I don't know if they've changed the design or if it's just the picture...)

This. From Costco, a pack of two varies between £11 and £15. I make my drink at 06.15 and is still drinkable hot until about 11.30.

Edit, that ebay link is the old design. IMO keeps drinks hotter for an extra half hour over the newer design but isn't as good to clean the insides of the autoseal as the new type.

I stand by both my Primus and Thermos Thermocafe mugs - the cheap ones just aren't worth it!

Always go the metal ones over plastic. I user a Berghaus one that tastes fine, but has the lid issues the OP doesn't want. I do a lot of work with the army and they all carry similar ones to the Life Venture link above, screw top gives you a good seal and far easier to clean than varieties with fancy valves.

The advantage of the Avex is that it's one handed operation. Makes it idea for use while driving etc.

Costco do 2 in a pack like avex, I think for £9 might be more though.
