Need a good tyre supplier, Suffolk/Essex

My faithful tyre supplier appears to have disappeared overnight... not the first time it has happened.

Need a recommendation for a friendly and reasonable supplier/fitter in the general area (I am based near Sudbury but can travel).

I don't buy masses of tyres but I tend to buy two/three sets a year for various reasons and I like to support local businesses over faceless internet masses

Try Nigel and his guys at Stowupland Fast Fit, honest as the day is long and a really helpful bloke.

Try Treadfirst up on the industrial estate in Sudbury. I use them for all my vehicles and have found them really helpful. Prices were very good too and nothing was too much trouble.

Thanks Wryka. I actually gave them a ring regarding my previous vehicle and they were less than helpful, to put it mildly. Perhaps I was unlucky. I have heard good reports from others.

Hope you are well.
Have you tried the guys at Barrett Lee in Sudbury? Guys in there have always been great with my commuting cars although have never let them near the 993, even though they used to do a lot of stuff for Joff at Finley Gorham.

Thanks Rob - not given them a whirl.

When it finally comes time for some new tyres I'll report back on the above!

Same for Treadfirst in Haverhill. Hourly rate was £60 + VAT IIRC!

Danny at Hillside is a top bloke with good prices on tyres/servicing etc, I've been a happy customer for ~17 years, 01284 754646.

I used them a couple of months ago for a couple of tyres for my old Peugeot, great service, their price was the same as everybody else. They couldn't balance my wheels though, but I wouldn't hold it against them as I doubt any mainstream tyre place would be able to these days.

DemonD in Sudbury have re-opened after having all of their equipment stolen. Have used them the last few times for tyres and also to refit some that another local fitter made a mess of and they have been cheaper than anyone and seem to do a good job.
