I hope someone can help on this one. I parked at Cobham Services and to cut a long story short was there longer than the 2 hours free. Went back to the car and i didnt have a ticket. Do these work on the ANPR or do you physically need a ticket, if so how do they know who's paid or not as it doesn't seem to have any letters to put your reg in.

Any know if i will get a fine or not?

Joy! How long does that normally take to come though? Worth emailing them and trying to pay now?

There's usually a phone number to ring, to pay for parking longer on a sign or you can pay in one of the shops. I don't know if you can do this retrospectively.
I thought you went there twice in one day and had a receipt for something from somewhere else in between.
I mention this just in case the ANPR didn't pick up you leaving and returning, only the first entry and last exit.

If you get a letter, don't ignore it. Go to http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk and similar and follow their advice. I did so and got a £100 "penalty" cancelled by MET Parking. Although it might have been http://www.parking-prankster.com whose advice I used. Anyway, do some research and get the ticket cancelled, at POPLA appeal if necessary.

I got a penalty at Leigh Delamere. Ignored it. 2 years later I haven't heard about it again.

If you get a ticket, there are numerous ways to fight it and you'll almost always win. Check moneysavingexpert.com, they have forums and template letters. It's worth the effort to appeal.
