I've been a few times in the past and found them to be 'ok'

Got one here in Chiswick, the stuff looks terrific but tastes nothing like as good as it should. A triumph of marketing. The local independent cake shops are far better even if their fayre doesn't have the fancy visual appeal.

I've been a few times, mainly the ones in Charing Cross Road and Spitalfields Market, both in central London.

Great presentation, the cakes look really tempting and smell quite nice, but very little flavour. Not a patch on what you would get in France.

Same goes for their ice cream - I have had much better elsewhere.

And they are not cheap either.

I suspect you are witnessing a brand over extending and now trading on a reputation that hasn't been deserved for little while....

Try a cream cake in Spain, could not believe it. Look fantastic and all tasted the same.

Of nothing smile
