Judging by the majority of posts on PH, I would say YES.

I think it's also impatient Britain, nobody gives way on the roads now and so many people pull out in front of you, or across in front of you at roundabouts etc.

It's all caused by a common condition known as "couldntgiveafukitous"

Just sent this, wonder if they'll post it?

"You missed that other despicable group, "Crap Journalists", of which you clearly belong.

85% of people have TV? Rejoice! Here's another statistic for you - 85% of programming is repeats and "reality" shows. So how is that progress?

Fool."

From the link to the article, this made me laugh.

"One group of people who seem to drive these modern moaners really nuts are chavs, otherwise known as young working-class men and women".

Working Class ....my fragrant arse!

OMG

Am I moaning?

Grumpy? Yes, what of it? Britain's always been full of grumpy people, we just make a point about it now because 'research' means we have to make a point about everything.

That statement (by the BBC journalist) is utterly offensive to me. There is nothing wrong with being working class. There is plenty wrong with being a Chav. They are NOT the same thing. Working class people are as honest and basically decent as anyone else and I'd say we "Grumpy Old Men" know that perfectly well. Why? Because being grumpy about things is not the preserve of the middle class. Everybody's grumpy at the moment. And is it any wonder!

Can't blame most thinking people for being grumpy. The pervading culture is to make stupidity and laziness a virtue.
Personified by the debt "management" adverts on TV. Some dopey fat bint/bloke saying how they got out of debt by borrowing £25k from some swindling loan company, or the where there's a blame there's a claim adverts, or layabout chavs, or reality TV shows, or the cult of celebrity, or fad diets and plastic surgery! Don't even get me started on our current government

Grumpy? never!

Just left my comments but I doubt they will show them, never have done in the past.

'I'm not exactly old but look at your statements.
85% own TVs but look at the rubbish they show. 300 channels and the 'best' they can show is Wife Swap.
Many more people have cars. Woopey doo, that just means we get to spend even more time stuck in traffic because the road network hasn't improved at the same rate.
What happened to kids playing football in the street and walking to school in the morning. Now they hang around corners swearing at the locals and I can't get my car out the drive in the morning because of all the cars on the 'school run'.
Political correctness!!! Don't get me started, testicles to that.'

I agree totally Bin the rotbox and just lead a news free life. It's all misery out of our control. I'm starting to think like Blair wants me to, so that I will be indifferent to my nationality.

its not that we are grumpy - its that we have more to moan about because there is more to moan about. we pay loads of cash to live in this country under the promise things will be better - and things are rarely any better.

we expect more, we pay more, we get less.

we get screwed everytime. thats the national pasttime.

I sent my (grumpy ! ) response into the BBC about the crap article - saying it was a pathetic load of nonsense and that being concerned about many aspects of todays society and government isn't "snobbish" at all.

(... where do they get these rubbish journalists from anyway ? )

I challenged them to publish my comments adding that they probably wouldn't as they didn't conform to the standard "BBC" view of the world - no surprise they haven't been published then.

Why do we question this!? The answer is yes and I'll explain why:

- We are controlled by a puppet government who overtax us for everything and then the money just 'vanishes' into crappy culture projects and other pointless crap.

- There are no other serious political parties to vote for so we're stuck with our puppet state.

- We are being over-run by an uncontrollable Chav population. It seems to be getting worse all the time.

- We are turning into a nation of fear with the absent threat of terrorism all the time.

- The police are being turned into a business rather than a service by the government.

- We are being dictated to by people who sit in a stuffy office calling themselves academics although they never have any experience of the subject they are creating rules for.

- The weather is crap.

Hence i'm leaving to go abroad as soon as I have the experience needed. Needless to say so are most of the other educated people of this country. It was recently reported that more people are leaving the UK than ever before!
