Anyone have any experience f these? Any recommendations?

my father has just bought his first diesel and, after almost 55 years of driving only petrol cars, is worried he might try and use the wrong pump. Apart from writing DIESEL in large letters across the filler cap has anyone any feedback on the selection of devices that seem to be available?

TIA

I have one on my van, very easily fitted, comes with or without a locking cap, whichever you need, the locking version, which I have, costs about £30.

I'll try to find a link to it.

I think Wayne Rooney did it, so has nothing to do with being stupid, oh!! Wait a minute biggrin

Actually, mate has just done this to his Defender 90 and he is anything but stupid. No college degree but very well off through hard work and a lot of common sensefrown (last person in the world I would of thought to make this mistake)

Everybody has those - problem is, in a lot of poeple they aren't connected to the squishy grey bit right behind them when it comes to filling up.

Mrs JS manages a large petrol station selling north of 100k litres a day in Essex and you wouldn't believe the number of 'tards who manage to fill diesel cars up with petrol and then get all hysterical about it like it's her fault. Calling out breakdown services for misfueling is a regular feature of her day, along with other examples of forecourt Cretinism like jumpstarting cars, smoking, phoning, letting young kids dispense petrol or using milk bottles or random plastic tubs as fuel containers.

There's usually several driveouts or people with no means, or pretending they have no means of payment right after they've just brimmed the tank every shift to deal with, regular outbreaks of actual fisticufs over que jumping or random forecourt rage, the odd car spewing smoke or steam pulling up resulting in an emergency shutdown, mass evacuation and a panic button 999 call, numerous minor collisions and sideswipes and someone has even been run over and quite badly injured.

Deeply worrying just how many idiots have use of a car IMO.

Unless you fill your petrol landrover with diesel

For extra dumb points you put the petrol landrover on a trailer and tow it with a diesel landrover and fill the diesel one with petrol at the same time
