I'm considering swapping my car in the near future for something like an E46/90 M3 or a E63 6-Series. Given the age of these, the vast majority of cars available fall outside the franchised dealer network/approved used stock.

Does anyone have any recommendations for dealers who specialise in cars like this that are just beyond what a main dealer will stock, but a bit more interesting/high value that most general dealers?

Thanks in advance!

Munich Legends or perhaps Birds Garage?

I would perhaps suggest being prepared to look at vehicles at other dealers, as well as private sales and then getting a pre purchase inspection carried out and putting a BMW warranty on the car.

Occasionally older cars do appear in the AUC network, but they can be few and far between.

Cheers, those were the main two I have come across that seem to have a good rep and long history, although Munich Legends seem to concentrate on the low miles/top price stock!

I have seen cars on the AUC scheme which look sensible but like you say, maybe the way forward is to find a trustworthy private seller rather than having a (good) dealer do the pre-filtering on my behalf.

I have bought, sold and serviced a few cars through Munich Legends and can highly recommend them. I also have friends that have used them also and are very happy with the service they got. If you want something specific (model/colour etc) they will probably be able to source it for you.

Give Dan a call, he's a good guy and really knows his stuff.

That's half the problem though, I don't know exactly what I want which makes the task a bit harder! Hence a general prestige dealer would probably be a good place to start.

I like the 6-series, but its probably a bit bigger than I would ideally choose. A friend has a 630 which has really surprised me with how much I like it, I think they feel a bit more special than a 3 series... but then an M3 is special in another way. I guess I want a 3 series sized 6 series, with the performance of an M3 but the comfort of the 6. I guess that points towards 335!

Thanks for the recommendation of Munich Legends, I'll keep monitoring their stock list.
