20-25mm Inner tubes on a 32mm CX tyre

I used my last larger inner tube on Sunday during a club off-road ride and will struggle to get to a shop till after Xmas. Will a 20-25mm tube be ok with the larger tyre in an emergency?

Only size tubes I use on my cyclocross bike, so you'll have no trouble. Even used them on my 29er when I didn't have any fat tubes.

It would be a spare in the saddle bag job to get me home. I might just stick the 28mm 4Seasons back on...

actually thinking about it, it was a 20-23mm tube i used on a 35mm cross tyre. It definitely didn't work anyway!

I've had two punctures on my cross bike this year, one was due to a ripped sidewall, and the other was a rock was flipped up by another rider, which broke the valve off. That's twenty races, including the Three Peaks, two cyclocross Sportives, and a mountain bike challenge, let alone all my off road training.

What the hell are the rest of you doing?

I use 23mm latex tubes in my cross wheels. Never had an issue. Even when I let a little too much pressure out of the front on the start line of the last (very wet) race.

It's only 10-12mm difference. Pretty sure a tube can accommodate that without too much trouble.

Zero here, including racing, lots of offroad abuse etc through terrain I should probably be on an MTB for....
