Ball joint nut
Discussion
Hi,
I need to replace the lower ball joint nut as it was damaged and as its a nyloc it should be replaced after removing anyway, so does anyone know what size it is? It's an imperial thread of some sort and it's around the same sort of size as an M12 nut. Any advice welcome as at least it will give me a starting point.
Thanks,
Rich

Looks like it could be UNF, 7/16" or 1/2" ?
Measure the diameter of the thread with an open end spanner, will a 7/16"AF (11mm) do around it or a 1/2" AF (13mm) ?
7/16" unf would usually have an 11/16" AF nut, or a 3/4" AF nut on 1/2" unf.
Never worked on "modern" TVRs but all the main wishbone pivot bolts are 1/2" on the S Series, Chimaera and Griffith.. compare a nut off one of your wishbones

There again it could be Metric Fine thread?
If you can find your local nut 'n bolt suppliers, take a nut along, they'll match it in no time. Bit far from you but these guys (and ladies) are local to me and offer a very friendly, helpful service or just up the road in Birmingham another bunch of decent guys

Jaguar used this joint from the early 60,s
The British car industry started slowly going metric in the mid 70,s
