Short story. A few years ago I herniated a disk in my neck. After finally having enough I went back to the Drs and they said they would arrange for an mri.

I told them about all the issues I was having and he asked me to make an appointment for a blood test which I did.

Anyway 6 weeks later (they did say it would take a while) no letter from Mri people so I pop in and see receptionist. Apparently the referral wasn't sent frown

Anyway she says they will do it again and as I'm just about to leave she says there is a prescription. You tests came back you are anemic. But prescription is for Folic acid?? Confused.

I'm assuming it isn't serious or they would have been in touch? So I guess I make another appointment. As I'm not pregnant what could that be and why prescribe folic acid?

I'm sure the doctor will explain it I'm just a bit confused.

Thank you.

I was researching normal aneamea thinking I was bleeding from a stomach ulcer or cancer. Love the Internet

Explains a lot. I have numbness in my hands and feet ( I'd put that down to the herniated disk in the neck). and had palpitations and breathlessness enough to take me to a and e once this year.

Hmmm have a pretty normal diet and eat plenty of cereals.

They look like you could overdose on Vitamin A pretty quickly. Not a great idea.
