Hi all
The verneers on my dashhave been well past their best for a while so I've done a little makeover. Saw the same effect done on a V8S and have copied it. ( it's the sincerest form of flattery)
It's not going to be to everyone's taste but hey-ho

Another of the glove box
It looks a bit busy in the photos but it's a bit more subtle in the flesh
One of my new gearknob too
It's antique glass - just fits my hand lovely biggrin
Only about 50 more jobs to do on the wedge then in finished......

Merry Christmas all
Ron

I did something similar on a previous wedge I used to own and I thought it looked quite cool as does your one. However, some people like to keep it original, but hey, it's your car and you should have it the way you like. It looks nice to me. What is the dash material you've used? My one was the stainless steel they use in Kebab shops.

This was how my car interior was when I bought it. The veneers had a white TVR logo on a red background. I put the plastic veneers, which were quite substantial, in a previous BBWF charity auction. Someone bought them. I wonder where they are now.

the lacquer on the black is soft as ste so it needs touching up frequently.
I would use "Guitar lacquer"...There is a black gloss lacquer or the clear...Dries quick and is pretty hardy once cured...Ziga

Looks great, much better than the wood looking dash in my opinion. ...

I'm not a fan of wedges mainly because of the cheesy interior rather than exterior styling but gotta say hats off to you. That's an amazing transformation from Red Leicester with cranberries to vintage Stilton laced with tequila. Love it.

Hi all
Well thanks for the pretty positive comments so far - felt sure they'd be a lot more who didn't like it TBH- here's a new pick of what it looks like with the sun on it

Wasn't too sure if I was going to keep it like this long term or go back to wood but I think it's like getting a new hairstyle (not so much of a problem at my age!) that you have to live with it for a bit to get used to the different look. I'm getting used to it now and I think it's going to stay.
Not going to tell you how it's done just yet - some of you might want to take a guess ?? Will reveal the technique in a day or two
