hello chaps, a quick question that i suspect i know the answer to, but just in case someone might be able to shine a bit of a better light on it.
I have an old mark 1 with original met alarm (cant find which model in any of the documentation i have, suspect its anm99 or m99t). a few years ago the alarm began to act erratically, an indicator light staying on for example, even whilst driving sometimes, the alarm going off sporadically - it turns out it seems it was a battery issue. once a new battery was put into the car, it all seemed fine.
a few years later though, and i seem to be having a similar problem, although this time i have a newish, high power battery in the car, and its almost always disconnected when not in use, so i suspect that it might not be the battery this time. my keyfob stopped working, which i figured was a fob battery issue, and so whilst waiting to get some replacements, i got into the car with the intention of disconnecting the battery. the alarm went off as expected (the siren has not been working for a while, ive read that these can fail independently and can be plug and play replaced), the hazards flashed to indicate the alarm had tripped. once id used the key and touch key to deactivate the alarm, however, and start the car, the hazards were still flashing.
is this a familiar alarm fault? is it going to be a case of reprogramming with abacus? a replacement altogether? any suggestions of where to get a replacement siren, whether refurbished or not?
any help much appreciated.

Not a highwayman for sure, he was ultra helpful getting my car safe when I had the keys and fobs nicked. Give him a call and he may even be able to resolve on the phone.
If not it may help your pocket if you have the red re-coding card, but worst case he can provide a replacement alarm/immob at a refreshingly non-TVR price.
