I'm considering turning the back half of a garage into a mini - gym / workshop / hiding place from the kids.

My son's Xbox is probably going in there with a TV, there's no aerial or cable connection but there IS excellent wifi.

I appreciate this is a bit of a techno-noob question but is there anything I can connect to the TV which lets me watch free-to-air channels over the wifi? In other words watch TV without paying a subscription and without any cable/satellite connection?

Thanks smile

Chromecast? You'll get iPlayer etc on it. or a Roku/Now TV box but most of those are subscription only.

you can plug a google chromecast £30 into a xbox so then whatever you beam to the chromecsst from another device will be shown eg iplayer or Demand5 on your phone or something playing on another device in your home. Don't think you can get regular freeview channels over the internet though.

Didn't know I could plug it into my Xbox! Just saved me getting a new TV as I don't have HDMI port thingy on it smile.

Install FTV Guide and also set up the PVR IPTV Simple Cient.

The PVR Addon gives around 7400 channels!

FTV Guide will show what's on TV now. Allegedly!
