Looking for some advise please, I've had a look online for example at the link below however I would like a card that has a large limit, between £10,000 to £12,000 ideally.

Got some expenses coming up and I could use savings for it however I'd rather like to spread the payments and aim to pay the balance off within 6 months as it's just easier for me.

Problem is with the site below it doesn't tell me the amount I can have so wanted to know if someone can advise me please since I do want a large balance and also 0% interest over 6 to 12 months if possible

This seems to be the best deal out there right now too? I already bank with Santander too

Ime most cards start with low limits in the £500 to £3k range then go upwards from there, by then your out of the promotional period generally.

What credit score, income and current commitments does one need to be offered a £10-£12k limit straight off?

True statement as well. Planning on giving Santander a call monday to discuss over the phone.

If anyone else knows of good deals or card companies please let me know?

MBNA or Barclays, assuming you have a decent credit history smile

Barclaycard are known for giving good limits straight off in my experience. Normally couple years 0%. Last offe they sent me was upto 10k in my bank account interest free for two years.

Banks are bds really. Chucking money at you when you don't 'need' it. But in my younger days and in a bit of financial pickle. They don't want to help at all

In a similar vein - do these 0% balance transfer offers on credit cards mean you can just park a large short-term debt on the card without paying anything back - not even the minimum monthly repayment amount - and attract no interest for the term of the offer ? I've seen one with Santander which offers 0% balance transfers, no annual fee and no transfer fee. Any catches here. Will pay off balance before 0% deal finishes.

I got a 0% NatWest Platinum not long ago with a near immediate decision and an 18k limit iirc. Self employed as well.

Normally the catch is the transfer fee. Be sure to set up a direct debit for the minimum payment though. One missed payment nullifies the offer iirc.

You have to pay the minimum payment at least which is usually 3-5% of the balance, no drama really as no interest is being charged so it just reduces what you owe.........

The Santandar card looks quite good in terms of cashback etc.
