SD card for the gopro hero black

Mrs BCM got me a rather nice Gopro hero black , i'm a bit of an old duffer & when it comes to memory cards i'm even worse ,i have ordered a recommended ( by the gopro site )card online & it's a
"SanDisk Extreme SDSDQXL-064G-G46A microSDXC / microSDHC 64 GB, Class 10 UHS-I Memory Card with SD Adapter"
I'm Guessing the extreme card is the best for getting results out of the camera.
If i was to put an inferior & cheaper card in for now to just get to know the machine would it harm the camera ?

Any advice hugely appreciated.

If the card is too slow, the gopro will beep & stop recording, you need the correct speed card.

It wouldn't harm the camera, but as mentioned, the results would be poor.
