Can't help but feel they would do well to make an ST version of this.

Signifies a plate that makes an image easy to flip where necessary.
XVM 101 used to be a common one in Ford adverts.

As for the OP, get a grip and/or life. It's xmas ffs!

Don't think they've got an engine for that. Unless they used a detuned version of the upcoming 'RS' engine, but the market would be so small for it. The car looks quite nice in that advert but I prefer the similar and based on the same chassis (I think) Mazda 6.

Notice how all the numbers and letters can be mirrored left-right? Makes advertising campaigns cheaper when you can use them worldwide.

You can make the advert as fancy as you want, but you can't hide the fact the car is bereft of any style whatsoever. Another badly styled Ford that already looks very dated.

If they wanted to advertise in another market, wouldn't they also use the number plate style from that market (how many other countries drive on right and use UK style number plates)? I would have thought CGI changes would be the done thing.

It doesn't look much more exciting than the current Mondeo. Which isn't.

The number works as a mirror image because if they reverse the image it appears as a left hand drive car... that's the point!

You may have missed mine? No other significant markets that are LHD use UK style plates, so reversing them will leave you with nicely reversed numerals on a number plate that doesn't represent the market where the advertisement I being shown.

Do Ford use UK style plates on their non-UK LHD advertising?

I disagree, I think it is a fantastic looking car. I would happily drive one smile

Check out the video below and you'll clearly see that car marketing does indeed make use of reverse images on occasion and this video clearly indicates why a reversible number is advisable!! (at about 12 secs in). This section was cut from the final released video.
