Feature request: "No Spoilers"
Discussion
Firstly, if you only read one sentence of this post before making a knee-jerk reply then read this one: I know we already have spoiler tags.
So, with that out of the way, on to my feature request.
We often have threads where we'd rather people didn't post spoilers and often people put "no spoilers" (or, conversely, "with spoilers") in the subject line. And when we would rather not have spoilers we get a little upset when someone does post them.
When you create a new thread, the Original Poster is given an extra screen before posting that asks if they would like to be emailed when a new post is made. I propose an extra option on this screen specify that this is a thread where spoilers are not allowed. If checked, then this flag is recorded in a database field for the thread.
Thereafter, whenever anyone makes a post to a thread so flagged, then in the 'create post' dialog where they get to write their post and there is the "Submit button", then an extra message is displayed in red advising them that this is a "no spoilers" thread and to please be careful about posting spoilers that are not enclosed in the spoiler tag.
Obviously, moderators would be able to set / reset this flag retrospectively.

I was envisioning it as something that the Original Poster would indicate when creating the thread.
Moderation during the thread's lifetime would be via the usual "Report" link to get a moderator involved - no changes proposed there.
Also, a moderator could be asked to retrospectively apply the flag to an existing thread, in the same way that a moderator is sometimes asked to change the thread title. Or, in the case of a thread so flagged where consensus is to remove it, a moderator could be asked to remove it. Again, like we currently have for changing the thread title.
So really this is just a mechanism to remind posters that it's a "no spoilers" thread when they post to it - it's not proposed that it is enforced in any way additional to the usual moderating process.
