dunno about sussex plod but southend definatly have a evo 6.
funny story (well,i thought it was when i saw it happen) chichester nick used to have cossies a few years back.
when the speed bumps were put in on hailsham rd (the road that runs past the nick) the first cossie pulled out,the driver floors it and promptly smashed the cars sump at the first hump it 'hit'.
i wonder how he explained that one away??

heard about that too. Most high performance cop cars have sump guards to stop this happening.
Yup, at the very earliest. More like Aug/Sept according to the briefing given at the pre-Assessment Day workshop.
I'm starting a six month contract with a new firm on Monday, and am hoping it'll end a week or two prior to my start date. Of course I still have to pass the fitness and medical...

Thanks Roadcop. I'm confident about the bleep test (only 5/4 on a 15m course), and the demo of the push/pull had a guy getting figures of 60-70kg, so I'll be gutted if I can't manage 35!
The medical is more of a worry, as my hearing is iffy in my left ear. Last proper medical (10 years ago) saw me barred from becoming RAF Aircrew, but fine for Intelligence Branch. Hopefully I've not shagged it much more. My eyesight is borderline too.

With the eyesight tests, it should be the new equipment...where yoiu look into a huge pair of binoculars on a table..
However, when testing each individual eye...if you need to cover one, don't put your finger on your closed eyelid as it will blur it for when you need it next. Instead, cup your hand over you eye socket not making any contact with your eyelid.
I might be teaching you to suck eggs here, but any tips are good for you....

- and im not happy about the waiting either do you want a bleep test? i wouldnt sweat the physical, honestly, but i can send you the one i used? if youve got a garden you can practice in (or a park if youre brave) its useful to quantify your fitness?

no word as yet on any medical or dates or anything. pretty shite state of affairs really. I had my physical some time ago and not much has happened since. my current drama is finding a copy of my gcse results which have gone walkabout i might ring em tomorrow and see what the story is...
