Hi all

Im in the middle of upgrading the original stereo and speakers in my Cerb and came across a Stereo Crossover Unit. Does anyone still have theirs in place? I was thinking of doing away with it, but just wanted to check I wasn't missing anything before I did.

Am I missing anything or is it pretty redundant if I'm replacing everything in the car?

The crossover is only fitted on the mk1 pre 98 and splits the front speakers to produce a centre channel and left and right trebble. In my car I removed it and then put in additional wiring for the front speakers fitting them in the doors as per 98 on models, I used existing wiring for the tweeters on the doors and rear channels,I have written down the wiring if you would like it. I have also wired in for amp/sub in helmet holder but not installed as the mods so far have improved it immensely, the improvement in sound quality with 17cm front door speakers and new head unit was well worth it. My original was unlistenable, no mid, no base just a tinny noise.

That's helpful, thanks.

I ran it for the first setup and it sounded terrible so I ran new wires for all speakers and got rid of it.

Alpine head unit, JL Audio components front and rear and an 8" powered sub in the boot and it sounds great!
