points non non-DVLA license?

I received a NIP for doing 58 in a 40 area, pleaded guilty and agreed to a fixed fine.

A few weeks later, I received a letter from the police telling me that they can't endorse my German license and therefore the issue had to be processed to the Magistrates' Court.

I replied to the summons, pleaded guilty, and noted that I had agreed to the FF but had not been allowed to go down that route.

I now received the notice of fine which is 60 quid and 3 points.

So far so bad, my question:

the note says

SPEEDING-EXCEED 20/30/40/50 MPH-LOC 3pts FO

- if they can't endorse my license, what about the points?
- if no points, will that affect my premium?
- if they can't endorse my license, can they ban me or shall I face higher fines?
- am I better off with my current license or should I get a UK one?



I've been living in the UK for the last 3 years, and this was my first conviction.
When I received the NIP, the first thing I saw was the title, "Notice of Intended Prosecution"

i'm doing things the opposite way, uk licence in germany, lots of flensburg points and now a month ban

You've probably confused them by calling it a license instead of a licence......

IIRC then they will have created a skeleton record at DVLA on a driver number from your name and date of birth. On this they will have added 3 points. Because you couldn't show a UK Licence to FP Office goes to Court who will have enquired of DVLA to see if any points outstanding for totting to be considered.

There is also a procedure for Sec of State (DVLA) to notify the issuing authority of your Jeerman Licence of your transgression.

EEC points and Disqualification harmonisation now being worked on and soon will be applied.

ouch! That did hurt if this was true, my offence had cost me 1 point (if any) if commited in Germany.
