Time for a change!

After some sensible opinions. I currently drive a 2.0hdi Peugeot 407SW. It's been a great car covering nearly 30,000 miles in under 2years. However, my mileage has now dropped to much lower levels so I fancy a change. Must be an estate or similar due to 3 growing kids! Always fancied a Range Rover but I know how expensive they can be if they go wrong. I'm now curious about a W210 E class, particularly the E55 AMG! Insurance is no more than the Peugeot strangely. Anyone offer a real life opinion on these cars or recommend something else? Budget will be around £5k .

You could get the best of the best BMW e39 530i / 540i Touring with £5k, maybe a bit less.

Wonderful cars, loved my 530i saloon and getting drawn to the classifieds for another.. Admittedly not quite E55 performance though.
