From the BT website:-

"Call Return (press 3) element of BT 1471 - from the 1st August 2004, BT will be introducing a 6p fixed fee to the Call Return element of BT 1471. The fee will apply when customers press "3" to return the call to the telephone number of the last caller and will be charged regardless of whether or not the call is connected. Dialling BT 1471 without using the Call Return will remain a free service."
(my italics)

I know it's not a big cost but were any of you aware of it?

Also heard on the news last night that BT have "adjusted" what is considered to be daytime - basically cheap-rate calls used to go up to 8am but now only go to 6am. I think the figures they gave were that a 1 hour call between 6am and 7am would jump from 5.4p to £1.30 or so.

They did, however, at least have the balls to say that they were doing it to maximise profitability.
