Not pretty but does the job...

Waxoyl! Had my local garage get the Wedge on their ramps and totally covered the chassis, and much more, with shed loads of waxoyl. Apart from a couple of areas of light surface rust, which was cleaned back, the chassis is absolutely solid. The outriggers had been replaced previously and likewise are covered in waxoyl.
Yes I know it looks horrible but as I want to use the Wedge all year round I'd rather have it protected. One unexpected bonus is the slickest gear change ever, although I imagine grit and mud mixed with the waxoyl on the gear linkage eventually will be a pain so I'd better clean it off.
Major downside was the very large over spray on both front discs which didn't do a lot for the cars braking ability. To be fair they had it back in this morning and stripped the brakes and thoroughly cleaned pads, discs and calipers so normal decent braking performance has resumed.
While it was up on the ramps they also changed the rear pads, adjusted the hand brake and changed the fuel filter. I know I should do it myself but the thought of laying on my back on cold concrete when it's minus 3C didn't appeal!
And yes I know the exhaust has taken a hammering - must get the drive leveled and resurfaced at some point!

Mine leaks a bit of oil so the underside of mine is covered..My brand new stainless steel centre box has been hammered a bit as well and i was thinking about having it removed and something smaller fitted...Although just removed is very appealing to me..Not so my neighbours but then they have 3 kids that scream every morning..And i mean every morning..Poor bastids...

Cold weather for spraying waxoyl! Did they spray inside the outriggers?
Yes they sprayed absolutely everywhere and especially inside the sills and along the outriggers. The local garage is a 7 bay massive new heated unit which cost approx £1m 3 years ago so it was toasty warm inside when it was sprayed. Everywhere I park it since you can see the outline of the car when I drive off.I had this job done once at a local garage with only one lifting bay, on a previous TVR. The ones with many lifting bays refused to do the job as they claimed the waxoyl makes their garage dity. I purchased the waxoyl and the sprayer from Halfrauds and supplied the garage with all they needed to do the job. I also warned them about the overspray. I have to say they did a thorough job and for little money. Most of the overspray was on the exhaust which soon burned off. The brakes were ok and seemed to work fine.
PS. I noticed they've used clear on yours. I had bought them black waxoyl as I figured it would be easier for them to see where they have sprayed. During the work and after.
