Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Yacht

Having watched this old bit of nostalgia with the kids couldn't resist looking up info on the smart schooner / yacht which appears in the story telling scene. Turns out it was Mussolini's, called Chryseis, ended up as a floating B&B in Galveston (renamed the Stacey Leigh) after a disastrous rebuilt which made it look like a two story floating Portakabin. Sank in 2004 when up for sale ! , salvaged but no further news so probably languishing in a boat yard somewhere. Shame. Also can't find any info on the Hovercraft 'Chitty' in the same scene. Was it just a film prop that got scrapped after the film ?

Yes - although the photo I saw it was white. Did they decide to re skin it in old laminate flooring lengths ?
