Am I right in thinking that a smart TV can connect to my wireless router or BT box thing wirelessly?
If so, what's the best sub £400 model available?
If the BT box has to be connected via a cable, is there actually any real benefit to having the smart functions, or is it just a gimmick?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, my Samsung is wireless, I have a Toshiba in another room but I regret buying it and not another Samsung. Every time I turn the Tosh off it loses all the TV guide info, so you have to wait while it loads when I turn it on, the Samsung however keeps the guide info regardless and is instant when turned back on.
I've been looking at new tv's recently. Quite tempted buy this one

They had the same model in the hospital i had to visit recently and it was a very good picture.
They do a 47 inch model for £399.

Have a 50" Bush Smart TV. Don't have freeview so cant comment on EPG stuff but I can say the interface is a little clunky but perfectly functional, does Netflix, iPlayer, ITV Player, Deezer, Web browser works great with a keyboard and mouse for basic bits, also does dlna media sources for video/pics/music from the NAS. Has in built wifi but I have it on a LAN cable as its 2ft from my switch!
