Recommendations appreciated. I am looking for a couple of 20mm straps and a couple of 18mm.

Good advice from Matt.

A lot depends on the watch.

I've used The Strap Shop for less expensive watches. Always been good value.

Currently awaiting a leather NATO from Vintage Watch Straps for a Black Bay - which I'm rather excited about.

I've also used GasGasBones for other leather products. He also straps.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Richard's straps aren't appropriate for the watches that Im using them on, unfortunately.

http://ukwatchstraps.co.uk are my usual starting point.

A good selection of quality straps, decent range of prices.

Delivery is always (in my experience) next working day and Nick, the owner, is always happy to honestly answer questions.

What are the watches and what do you want to spend? There's always my beloved Jean Rousseau on Piccadilly who is nowhere near as expensive as one might think.

Jerome there is currently making me a dark blue croc with silver stitching, and curved ends. Choose the thickness, taper, lining and everything else. I got to select the actual hide and the actual part of the hide I wanted. It will have one pin hole so is specific to me.

The price for this is about £160, which IMHO is worth it when an off-the-shelf OEM Patek/JLC/Breguet strap is about £300.

For cheapies, watchobsession and Hirsch can't be beaten.

I recently bought a Hirsch through Watchobsession and have no complaints.

Even cheaper still, I have used a company called Sectime (via eBay) when I first started changing watch straps. Quality is good for the price.

I recently came across some by a small brand called Heuerville - they aren't cheap but look lovely.

I have Hirsch on my Offshore and it's perfect, can't fault it.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. If someone had asked me, then Id have suggested Watchbandcentre.com & Watchworx.co.uk, but I didn't know whether these were still relevant, or whether better was available.

The watches which need straps are:

Poljot chrono x2 20mm
Omega Chronostop rally-type strap 18mm
TAG Heuer 2000 20mm
Rado 999 Starliner 19mm
Rolex Oyster Date 19mm

I just found atelier Jean Rousseau in Piccadily Arcade and an waiting to pick up a croc strap nex week which was custom made for my odd watch size in the coulour of leather and stitching that I chose.
Have also bought from ukwatchstrap.co.uk and they were good too.

I expect to use 20mm parts for the 19mm watches.

edited to add: Sounds nice, but I suspect that it will cost significantly more than I am looking to spend. I regard leather straps as a consumable so Im looking to spend about £15 each, which limits my scope, somewhat. biggrin

Have you dealt with them personally? They seem to be very keenly priced but I don't want to waste money on poor quality straps.

Ive bought cheap clearance Hirsch straps in the past but finding them is very hit and miss.

Indeed I have, at least a dozen or more times. I was never disappointed with their products and the time to supply them.
You'd have to be one particular fussy bunny not to be pleased at their selection, choice and quality.
Did you mention you wanted results for £ 15 ??

I have a couple of straps from a site called Westminster Watch Co for my Speedmaster Professional. They were about £20 each and they're comfortable and handsome. The service was good (they came next day with free postage).

Could be worth a try!
