Which are the longest and longest running PH threads?
Discussion
It's a loaded question as I'm wondering if the Tell Us Something Really Trivial About Your Life is either the longest or longest running thread on PistonHeads.
Can any of the backroom boys do the numbers?
TUSRTAYL is on Volume 25, had its 250,000th post in May of this year and is five years old at the end of July 2015.

Longest running thread I can find... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
There are older, open, threads for the taking I'm sure (closed threads don't count!)

Should there be guidelines to distinguish between a running thread and a thread left open but unused? For example, a long running thread could be defined as "having at least one post per year since its inception" rather than just "still open."
The Mornington Crescent thread sleeps for ages and then wakes up, witnesses a burst of surreal outpourings and then goes to sleep again. The TVR thread quoted above opened in 2000, has three post in total but hasn't been closed. They're different beasts, I'd venture.

I vote for the Mornington Crescent thread, if only because I started it The Mornington Crescent thread sleeps for ages and then wakes up, witnesses a burst of surreal outpourings and then goes to sleep again. The TVR thread quoted above opened in 2000, has three post in total but hasn't been closed. They're different beasts, I'd venture.

(And as it's a solitary Friday at work after the holidays I believe it's double points all day!)

You did that yourself in the thread title. The Mornington Crescent thread sleeps for ages and then wakes up, witnesses a burst of surreal outpourings and then goes to sleep again. The TVR thread quoted above opened in 2000, has three post in total but hasn't been closed. They're different beasts, I'd venture.
Longest running is the TVR thread.
And longest? Dunno. Can't be arsed to look. It really can't be that difficult to spend some time looking. Can it?

Dicky please can you clarify what do you mean by longest?
Oldest thread still open? Because technically the very 1st one is still open
Oldest thread still regularly posted to?

Other?
