As you may or may not know there is a South West PHers meet on the 16th of January (a week on Sunday) we are meeting at the Waterloo Cross Inn at Taunton which is only 200 yds from junction 27 on the M5 from the junction take the A38 towards Wellington and the Waterloo cross is 200yds on the right.

See here... www.pubswithrooms.co.uk/waterloocross.html

We shall be meeting from midday with tables booked from 1pm for food (the manager of the pub is actually a PH lurker with a Type R!) This meet is open to all cars and clubs, the more varied the better!

There is also a possibility that Peninsula might be bringing up their new Tuscan 2 demonstrator in beautiful Reflex Charcoal, but that wouldn't interest anyone here would it!

There is also a thread running in the South West forum here... www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=1&f=114&t=140998&h=0

Feel free to email me with any questions.

David, if you're going down from Taunton do you want to meet up near the motorway somewhere and go down together? Anyone know the guys name with the Tuscan in Taunton? He might want to go. He met us all at the thornfalcon car show run but I forget his name.

Sorry to forget your name John. Apologies.

I'll be loitering at the petrol station on Blackbrook Park Ave just off the motorway roundabout (near the Rover dealer). Will be there at noon and hang around for a few minutes just in case anyone else from Taunton fancies meeting up.

Don't know why I haven't seen this thread before. I most probably will be popping along, I'll have to try and not get too pised on Saturday afternoon.

Grouch.

Please try and get there before midday if poss for the best parking and a photo-shoot.

I shall be there from 11.30.

Jamie. We are planning to be at Blackbrook a bit before 12.00. I'll be in the Tuscan and Mrs JA will drive the quattro. That should be fun! See you there.

Well, what can I say other than a massive thank you to everyone who made the effort to come to the meet today, we totally took over the old Waterloo Cross today and didn't it look good!

I love meets like these because you get to see so many other types of cars turning up, people quizzing each other over different marques, it's great. I never realised there were that many TVRs here in the South West for a start!

I hope you all had a good day, the food was really good!

This is the start of something good, I'll keep plugging away at this keyboard and get some more events sorted for the region, actually I quite enjoy it!

So for those who couldn't make it (and those that could!) here are some snaps. (Sorry, I took them before the sun blazed down folks!)

One of the entrants from the SW Tiger Owners Club!

Dazren's beautiful 450bhp 996 Turbo

My favourite of the day, Splodge's lovely Esprit

The new Peninsula Tuscan S series 2 demonstrator.

BBW comes to the South West!

You've been Tango'd!

Ladies and gentlemen, please be upstanding for.. The Audi Quattro!

Ever wondered what 182bhp at the wheels looks like in a FWD Pug?..... Your quest is over!

Obi made it with only one mirror folks!

Room for a small one?!!

..and finally my old trusty steed the AVO Mex!

Great piccies, nice event - well done Corin. Let's go for a group cruise next time, when the weather picks up.

Chizz, Cider.

After the success of Sunday's meet I am going to set up a mailing list for PHers in this area giving dates of meets, events and such like.

If you would like to be added to this list please email me via my profile and I will keep you informed of what is happening.

Also a chance for people to suggest anything of interest to us all.

Corin

P.S. I have has an invite from Jason Webb today from TVR Bodyshop who's invited us up for a day to see what they do, from body conversions to what goes into repairing a specialist sportscar from start to finish!

Sounds like a plan (and an excuse for a small beverage!)

Any information supplied to me will go to my personal server and will not be used in any other way.
