Snapped Fiat key question

My mother in-law has a 54 plate fiat Punto. She has snapped the key. Do fiat still have this red key issue. I remember 10 or so years ago i had a P plate Bravo. I snapped the key, lucky i had the red master key and a replacement was easy. Do fiat still on a 54 plate have the same red key deal as you guessed it she has not got a red key. When she got her car the woman selling it only had 1 key, the current blue one that sitting here in front of me in 2 pieces.

Is the actual blade the bit that's broken? Very often you can buy and have a replacement cut with ease without worring about the immobilizer etc.

I'm pretty sure the later Puntos didn't come with the red key and you don't need one even if it did. It's cheap and easy to get transponder keys cloned these days, far cheaper than buying a new key and getting it coded.
