I have been in happy ownership of a 79 911 and a manual 928 GTS for a long while now and the 928 seems to have near doubled in a year, at least from what I advertised it at in mid 2013. The 928 has rarity behind it and was undervalued. The 911 still exists in largish numbers but have entered cult status with those that had one on the wall. I would love a 1976 turbo but rarity and thus cost prevails.

I don't know how much difference the car media in the UK actually make on prices-
I was in the US recently and whilst chatting to a classic car garage owner he mentioned
that a well known TV car pundit over there had recommended air cooled 911's as a car to go for
and within a month or so they'd shot up 15% in value.
