The Mallory park case though wasn't down to noise though, it was the track owners taking the piss and ignoring the agreement they had with the local authority.

Not entirely true but it has also been the case at Silverstone and Brands from what I know.

i live near Brands, close enough to get free pass, every year i get a tit knock on my door asking me to sign his petition to get Brands closed, i tell him the circuit was there long before he moved into the area and to go away, unbelievable.

It baffles me why people who move next to race circuits complain of the noise. It's not like any of them are in a major metropolitan area (are they?) - and all of them are pretty old now.
