Noticed both rear tyres of my car have this slightly higher lip of tread at the centre compared to the rest of the tyre, it's on both sides of the rear of my bmw apart from this tyres are wearing completly even.
They are Goodyear eagle asymmetric 2
Anyone seen this before

Pressure a bit to high so accentuates wear in the middle?

vote here for over inflation.

I keep an eye on my tyres as they age and adjust pressure by a couple of pounds as follows,
  • Wear at the edges - increase pressure
  • Wear at the centre - decrease pressure
Cars which do a lot of motorway cruising can be particularly susceptible to this.

I've had that on the Conti SportContact 5's I've just taken off. Tyre pressures at manufacturer's settings and footpump checked with two different digital gauges.
The tread on the Conti's appears to be moulded from two pieces and once down to 3mm you can see the dividing line between them. One side does appear to have worn faster, leaving a little step on the central rib that looks very similar to the OP's photo.
