Following on from the thread on using cars top down made me wonder what the collective wisdom is on appropriate headgear.
Of course the car is going to determine the headgear to some extent. I've got a 1985 R107 Mercedes SL500 so more often than not I wear a beanie or occasionally a Brian Johnson style paperboy cap. But how about a Flat cap? hmm, don't own a cravat or the string back gloves. or Baseball cap? maybe a Deerstalker?
What do you wear? and what makes you snigger when you seem someone elses choice.

Cheers
Doug

Always wear a beanie of some description unless it's really warm outside as my head sticks into the airstream in a MX-5 quite readily.

For that reason I don't wear baseball caps. Tried that once, had to turn around and go collect it as the wind got under the peak and flicked it off!

Whatever it is, tie it on. Whether that is a bit of string or straps as part of the head covering device, does not matter as long as it is secure. Or you will be stopping to go back and get it at some point.

Normally a beanie, but I've got a daft looking furry trapper hat for when it's really cold biggrin

I did that once, it was st; been folded away for the best part of six years now.

On topic; baseball cap in a 7 for me. Low winter sun and no visor can be a problem otherwise.

I had an R107 and the wind deflector made a massive difference - if you haven't got one I'd recommend it before you try a hat.

Agree with 7mike on baseball cap. The long peak is an excellent sun visor.

I wear a beanie and my girlfriend wears a fairly subtle warm furry hat like this:

Ditto. I also have a caterham beanie that has a sort of peak. More useful than I thought it would be.

Beardo is the best choice - keeps both your head and your powerfully built goatee warm wink
