Hi folks,

I was just wondering if anybody knows of a garage that would be able to fit a Mp/H speedometer in the East Sussex area.

I have decided to import my Irish registered Opel Astra in to the UK as it looks like I am here for the long haul smile anyways, as part of the import process I need to change my KP/H speedometer to MP/H.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Many thanks,
Donna

Can you just buy the printed piece of plastic that sits behind the needle? There are probably instructions online and it'll be quite easy to do yourself - people (for reasons I don't understand) fit aftermarket ones.

Why change it? It will (should) already have mph markings in slightly smaller figures.

Most km/h speedos don't. Its usually just mph speedos that have km/h markings too.

Thanks for your replies guys, there are no mph markings on speedometer at all so would need to change it. I have just checked the handbook and its says that the speedometer needs to "show" m/ph so I guess I could get away without fitting the full speedometer smile
Thanks so much smile

If I recall this was the way it was with grey import bikes too - just a sticker over the KPH speedo.

That's the way on most Japanese imports I've seen (if the owner bothers at all)

Just stick your own markings on...smile

100kph = 62mph and so on.

You don't need a / in MPH. If you use one it should be M/H
