I'm usually found over on the Lambo forum and this is my first venture into a bit of Pork... Went out to buy an Evoque and came back with...

Bought yesterday from Hatfield Porsche. Hopefully pick it up on Monday!

The Mrs is going to be using it as a daily drive, and I am going to be using it for a little more fun.

Any must do things on the Cayman or ready to go out of the box?

Very nice and welcome to the swamp.

They are pretty good straight out of the box unless you intend to take it on track, in which case geo and possibly tyres would need some attention.

It will be used on track.

Already booked in a geo. Was considering some 18" wheels for track use as well (on better tyres) as suspect the 20" wheels aren't ideal.

Very nice indeed, congratulations!

And a good decision, I had an 05 Cayman S, sold it and got the Evoque Dynamic Plus with all the toys, first week clutch went not even 300 miles on the clock, electrics and a few other issues over past couple of years. So 2015 Cayman GTS for me.

Have a great 2015 PHers!

You may find this thread from Planet9 useful, particularly post #2

Thanks.

Definitely going to pick up some 18" wheels on better rubber for track days and keep the nice 20" rims for the wife to show boat around in!

So far so good.

We walked in just as they were about to close on NYE, test drove and spent another hour or two behind locked doors negotiating. Nice end to the year for the salesman I'm sure.

Picking it up on Monday.

Hopefully book a track day for Silverstone for 25th if I can get track wheels + tyres + geo sorted before then!

Shame it's not as pretty as the Evoque.

Picked this car up today.

It's superb.

On the road it is not over powered, it encourages you to really push on and drive the car, but you aren't doing silly speeds as you might be in a supercar. It is far more fun to throw around a B road than anything Italian i've owned and you don't feel like you are about to lose your licence at any minute (or break the car!).

Then, when you are done having fun, you can sit back and relax and everything just works! Its super smooth and comfortable and the finish and thoughtfulness of the controls, dials, etc is all superb. Very well thought out pocket rocket is this! For the money I think it is going to be very difficult to beat.

Booking up Silverstone trackday for the 25th of this month smile

I've covered 40K in my 981 2.7.....that pretty much sums it up. Bargain of the century...plus two cars in one.
