The story was the owner decided to have the latest MBE offering from TVR Power fitted to his Cerb, it was an interesting read.I just found this on Joolz website re multiple maps...

I am not sure I entirely understand the multiple maps idea from Joolz, going by that logic any ECU without support for on-the-fly switchable maps can have 'multiple maps' if you are prepared stop the car, connect up a laptop to upload and overwrite the existing map.
Basically the sprint article relates to a refined new ecu. Making a nice smooth job of mapping opposed to the original mbe which is more for Motorsport.
I suspect Mr lane has got a little device which allows you to upload a map from a PC for the mbe via a device thus you have multiple maps to use.
If I'm correct I know what it's called, as its standard practice with ecu's I tinker with.

hm price i see is 2640 GBP incl. VAT. interessting part is how much more for dual wideband lambda knock control coil on plug iginition and fully sequential fueling ? just for convenience sake getting a new
ecu in cause its easy to map does not make any sense.
if the car is not modded in kind of a way e.g. like different cams headers etc. i don´t see any gains here as it´s not going from carbs and distributor ignition to coil on plugs and fully sequential injection.

My thoughts as well, on standard cars I don't think cost vs gains would be efficient or of massive benefit but correct me if wrong if I am missing something.ecu in cause its easy to map does not make any sense.

The biggest gains might not be in HP numbers, but are in the total control the owner has over his or her engine.
I've had some experience of fitting Adaptronic systems, but not to TVRs. The company was started by an Australian electronic student and car nut wondering why aftermarket engine management systems were so expensive and in many cases not very capable!
I'd love to fit an adaptronic to my Cerb but the twin system setup is not supported by Adaptronic. Early days though, I may find a way to make it work!
