Can anybody advise me on an insurance company that will insure my Chimp as a 2nd vehicle on a cancellable policy where I can get my remaining premium back once I sell the car, the insurance runs out in a week and my current insurer won't refund if I cancel and I'm trying to sell the car at the mo but want to keep driving her.

Thanks,

Paul

Most will have quite a big cancellation fee, your best bet is to ring around and ask about their policies as they will all be different, but expect to pay a hefty fee when you do cancel.

Bit of a faff, but in the past I've rung around to find whoever is cheapest for the new car, rather than the current one.

Then (assuming you sell it fairly soon) you can just ring up and change the policy so no cancellation charge.

You might pay a bit more for a few months on the chim, but it will probably be cheaper than a big cancellation charge.

Just need to know what you will be getting as a replacement.

Take out an insurance policy with somebody like Norwich Union direct...

PAY MONTHLY by DEBIT card, ring up and cancel policy when car is sold......

Ergo, you only pay for what you use....

I have done this several times with no problems, and NU don't seem to mind....

The trouble is the car I will swap it to is already in my ownership and is heavily modified (Duratec V6 Mk1 Fiesta) so any TVR insurer won't touch it on the same policy so I have to cancel at some point.

Give A Manning a try- they were flexible when I swapped my cars around- call 01491 578759, xt 7206 & ask for Matthew.
Good luck

Norwich Union were useless and very, very expensive, >£1200 with sensible excess. then tried Mannings and they quoted me happy with a policy that can be cancelled and refunded at less than <£600. Many thanks for your help.
