I'm considering getting my engine tuned, but I wondered what peoples opinions are of both?

I know there's Mountune as well, but that's probably beyond my budget.

Cheers

Putting a map on in this weather would be fine, but you will have to consider an intercooler upgrade soon enough, as that's the standard cars issues. You can run with the standard intercooler, but the car will wind itself back to protect its intake temps. As to which dealer, they are both reputable companies, so choice is yours.

There is also Revo, who may still have their sale on. I can't comment on any listed, as I have a Mountune car.

As per the other poster, you, will want to get the inter cooler changed and consider that in many cases the extra torque can make the clutch slip, so an RS clutch may be on the agenda.

Make sure the inlet manifold is upgraded as well! When they go pop, it's bye bye brakes.

Plenty of Polestar Volvos running more boost than a Focus on a standard inlet manifold. Yes, they flow better and maybe stronger than plastic, but its not a definite fitment unless you are running big boost and the hoses will probably fail before the inlet anyway. Basic remap and its fine.

Glad I seen this thread, this is also something i am considering.
At the moment on mine I have a group a induction kit,3 inch downpipe and a 3 inch decat, certainly feels more torquey and spools up much quicker.
Next on the list is a airtec cooler and a remap.
Anyone got an estimate of power before and after?
Hoping to get a cooler down at the autosport show this weekend.

If you can get replacement silicon hoses, that helps the engine spool amazingly better, especially with the symposer delete. See Matt Lewis Motorsports for the hoses.

I ran both Bluefin and Dreamscience maps on my car and much preferred the Dreamscience.

My car was otherwise standard.

Intercooler before anything!

Wife's mk2 was running Autotech Stage 2 map. Guys are from Sweden so know the Volvo engine probably better than most. Then the clutch died lol

A stage 1 Bluefin caused clutch slip on my 60k 06 ST straight from installing the map. Budget on an additional £1000 to have the RS clutch kit fitted if you are thinking of remapping.

I ran Dreamscience on my '07 ST for 16 months or so with no clutch issues at all, thats a standard ST one not an RS one. I used the DSCi map which was the most power I could have out of the 5 maps mine came with.

I did have an Airtec Gen3 intercooler aswell (plus a K&N panel filter) but I found it made no difference at all.

I haven't tried it on my '10 ST yet.

I would recommend Dreamscience but have no experience of Bluefin.
