Just bought a Samsung 55" UH8500 and cant get Netflix to work. I have tried rebooting the router / hard wiring it / resetting the TV settings etc etc - logging all devices out of Netflix / any forum is about 6 months old and really no help.
Im now losing my patience.
I can watch it through my boys Ninento Wii U but its frustrating it wont work through the smart hub.
Annoying but must be a way ?

Is the op-sys and app up to date?

My netflix stopped working and only worked again after i'd manually updated the samsung os.

Tried both of those. Aargghhhh

I was going to give up wine and beer for jan but after spending about two hours with no success I opened up a red.

I had a similar issue with my Sony a few weeks ago. Tried all the usual update/factory reset/reset router but to no avail. Netflix support couldn't help. Eventually Sony technical support suggested changing the DNS server setting in the TV. No idea why this worked, as every other internet-connected app on the TV was fine, but it did the trick. May be worth a try if your Samsung allows you to do it. Write down the existing settings before changing it (although a factory reset would probably restore it anyway). They recommended 8.8.8.8 for primary and 8.8.4.4 secondary.

Cheers jonny - i'll try that next. I did that on my play station in another room and changed it to an american DNS (found instructions on youtube) you get much on Netflix.

I will have to google your suggestion - cheers

Can you log in? When we first tried it on our smart tv it was putting a capital letter as the start of the password so we couldnt log in. Doubt its this but just in case it is something this simple.

Netflix have apparently started to block people accessing the wrong region using dns which might be your issue.

I've got the 65" HU8500 - it works fine for me at the moment.

Are you sure it's not a login issue? With Netflix IIRC you can only register so many devices.

Do you use something like Unblock US to watch other regions? I only ask as I change the router settings to their DNS settings and everything is fine until the internet provider goes down, periodically, and the router loses it's new settings and regains the old ones.

I only realise that this has happened when I can't log into Netflix and it throws up an error code.

Where did you here this? They always notice that im in a different region as a message come up on log in saying essentially that seeing as im travelling i will notice that netflix is slightly different in this country.
Not saying your wrong but they dont seem to mind at the moment and could argue they're helping me to use it abroad.

It hit the news a few days ago over here and is all over places like reddit. They're starting to block certain VPNs and other geolocation stuff. Unblock us is still fine for me, but I doubt that'll be the case for much longer given its the studios putting the pressure on Netflix.

Still works fine when you're travelling, it'll just serve up content from that region. It's when you start using other tools to access content in other places they mind, like being in the UK but using a VPN to get US Netflix.
