I've got a couple of pouches of garlic and chilli olives that I'm not going to eat. I thought I'd like them as a snack and I don't.

Anyway I don't like throwing away perfectly good food and would like to try and use them.

Is there any reason why I can't blend them and add them into things like an italian sauce base or even my next soup?

Blend away assuming they are de-stoned.

A little of the paste will go a long way so use it like a seasoning to taste.

Thanks Tricky, that was my thinking.

Do I need to fridge or can they remain in a sealed container.

Would a little olive oil be beneficial?

Cook some oxtail until its really, really well cooked and easily shreadable. Blend the olives until coarsely smooth (if that makes sense, so some small lumps in). Mix with the shredded oxtail and spread on thin, well cooked toast (melba toast and the like) or other crispy delights.

Omm, nom, nom.
